Police rescue 'confused' elderly woman in freezing rain

Police have been lauded after rescuing a pensioner who was found wandering in freezing weather.

The West Midlands Police cops discovered an elderly woman walking in cold winds, as temperatures plunged. Officers said the woman didn't know where she lived so they took her to hospital, where a severe water infection was diagnosed.

Members of the public praised the cops on Twitter after the force shared how they had helped the lady, with comments such as “thank you for your service” and “well done for your kindness”.
